“ I am giving 5 stars because we had a very nice experience. The employees were so attentive and excited about making everyone feel welcome. The music was a bit loud but I think they were trying to fix it. There is nice seating outside. The inside was beautiful. We were surprised that a bean and cheese burrito was 16 but the ingredients are fresh. That may explain. The freshness matters to us. ”
“ I've been anxiously awaiting the opening of this location and even emailed corporate a year ago to ask when they were starting renovations. I love the pork barbacoa quesadilla and I get a side of the house dressing to dip it in... phenomenal! Lots of delicious drinks options (I love the mint limeade & horchata), kids can get a nino quesadilla for free which is a great incentive to come here. I saw some taco specials for taco Tuesday so can't wait to get some sweet pork barbacoa tacos! The only problem I had at my first visit the day after they opened was the person at the cash register had terrible communication skills and came off as condescending. I definitely do not think she is an appropriate choice for that position. Everyone else was checking on us ferociously... almost too much. People came by 10 times during our 30 minute visit...I get that's nice but balance is important. I'm sure that will wear off to be the right amount soon. ”

Employees are always super kind and helpful and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. It seems the location values its customers and want to create a pleasant experience and they have definitely achieved that with me! I have already recommended this location to several friends. “ We have frequented Cafe Rio in Castle Rock for many years and we were so glad when they opened in Colorado Springs. The owner made us feel welcome and we had a great meal! The tacos were fresh and filling, the burrito bowl was delicious, the fire-grilled chicken was amazing. And the green salsa with the guacamole...GAME CHANGER! Add some cotija cheese and it is a party in your mouth! My wife and family will be visiting Cafe Rio on repeat for as long as the owner is still running the store! ”
“ We had a great experience! We are used to going to the Castle Rock location which unfortunately is terrible now. The staff at this location are incredibly friendly and kind. The building was clean and well kept. The food was delicious- I got the sweet pork salad. In my opinion, if you want a good experience, this food should be eaten in store, not taken to go. We will definitely come back as long as the quality doesn’t degrade over time like the CR location! *we visited at 6pm on 2/3- entire team working was great! ”

“ I care about this place and this is the only reason I am writing this review in hopes that they improve. On Feb 11 at 06:00pm. I walked in and ordered their salad. For meat, I almost always go with grilled chicken but this tjme they were out so I went with Polo Asada chicken. Their chicken was super dry and burned. I couldn't eat it so I had to get it out of my salad bowl piece by piece. I get sometimes stuff happens and they can't get everything right at all times so i asked for a supervisor, Tanya came to my table and asked me whats wrong with the food. As I was explaining to her, she was being all defensive and interrupting me. She said the reason why your chicken is dry and burned is because you ran it through the toaster oven for 10 seconds at 500 degress. Tanya has no clue about the food that she serves at her restaurants. If you mess up, own it and try to fix it instead of making excuses. Update: May 04th 2025 My first couple visits were disappointing, but I went back again and I am glad to see some improvements for example food portions have gotten better. The staff is more friendly and the management has been improved a lot. This is the only Mexican food restaurant that I eat at in Colorado Springs area and the only one I would recommend. My only complaint now is if they can cook their beans better instead of reheating them in plastic bags. ”
